Soil Quality Decree

SGS INTRON and SGS INTRON Certificatie offer a variety of services relating to the Soil Quality Decree. The Soil Quality Decree has succeeded the Building Materials Decree and puts demands on the maximum leaching and content of building materials. Building materials may only be brought onto the market with: a batch report, a product certificate or a manufacturer’s declaration.

SGS INTRON:

• takes samples of building materials and soil and is approved for all sampling protocols;
• analyses building materials and is approved for the total AP04 package;
• performs batch tests;
• supports companies setting out to acquire certification;
• advises authorities, companies and sectors with regard to the interpretation of the Soil Quality Decree;
• advises companies about product improvement activities and carries out development research;
• carries out policy studies into the consequences of the implementation of the Building Materials Decree.

SGS INTRON Certificatie:

• certifies a large number of building materials with a KOMO or NL-BSB product certificate;
• develops and manages assessment guidelines in the context of the Building Materials Decree;
• issues manufacturer's declarations.

NB:

In 2005, 2006 and 2007, SGS INTRON collected the environmental protection data from the period from 2003 to 2006 with regard to all building materials subject to the Building Materials Decree. The reporting on the data from these years is included in the SGS INTRON reports. In 2008 SGS INTRON and RIVM published an English document which describes the Dutch situation and gives an overview of the results. This document has been introduced to the CEN TC 351 on the release of dangerous substances from construction products.
