CE marking
Building products traded inside the European Union must carry a CE marking. This is a product information label that informs the user that the product has been tested and conforms to European specifications.
CE marking is now mandatory for most building products. For some products, the manufacturer or importer can carry out the necessary tests, but other products have to be tested by a notified body. The checks at the factory may also have to be certified, or product certification may even be required. This requirement mainly concerns products associated with safety considerations.
